Welcome to Clarkstown

A Message from the Superintendent

Dear CENTURY 21 Grand customers

The decision of where to live and make a home for your family is one of the most important choices we make.  What is the community like?  How are the schools? Does the community value and support education?

The Clarkstown Central School District is a large district serving more than 9,400 students from a 31 square mile area. Clarkstown prides itself on fostering a small school climate, community involvement and a focus on the individual in its ten elementary schools, three middle schools, two high schools, and K-12 alternative education center.

At Clarkstown, our motto is “children first” and, as such, we do everything we can to ensure all students receive the quality education and the appropriate services they need to thrive.  We believe in and support the talents of our educators; they in turn inspire their students to achieve great things.

From academics to athletics to an extensive array of extracurricular activities, CCSD nurtures and supports success.  As a result, our students and faculty continue to shine in so many areas:

  • 97% of our graduates have continued on to college
  • 92.5% of our graduates have received Regents-endorsed diplomas
  • CCSD’s  graduation rate of 93.26% is the highest in Rockland County
  • Of the 1,081 Advanced Placement tests taken in May 2006, 86% scored a level  3 or higher, potentially  qualifying the student for college credit
  • With only 25% of the county’s students, Clarkstown produced 10 out of 19, nearly 53% of the county’s National Merit Scholarship semi-finalists
  • We have the lowest drop-out rate in the county

I thank you for your interest the Clarkstown Central School District and invite you to visit our schools and learn more about our legacy of excellence. Come and discover all that Clarkstown, our school district and our community, has to offer.  For more information, please visit our website at www.ccsd.edu.

Good luck in your search for a home.  We look forward to meeting you and your children.

Sincerely,

Margaret Keller-Cogan Ed.D.
