Welcome to North Rockland
A Message from the Superintendent
Dear Century 21 Grand customers
I am pleased to have the opportunity to tell you about the North Rockland Central School District and am glad that you are considering this wonderful community.
The North Rockland School District includes residents of the towns of Haverstraw and Stony Point. In fact, our legal name is the Haverstraw-Stony Point Central School District, but we are widely known as North Rockland.
Our District serves approximately 8,000 students in ten buildings. At the elementary and middle school levels our students attend neighborhood schools. Students in grade 8 and 9 attend Fieldstone Secondary School, a state-of-the-art facility that opened in 2005, and finally, students attend North Rockland High School, an institution with a proud record of success.
We offer a wide array of academic programs that meet the needs of students with a wide range of talents and interests. Students are challenged at the elementary level in the Discover program and move on to further challenges in honors and advanced placement classes. Many of our students earn college credit while still in high school. Students with special needs receive appropriate services from a highly trained team of professionals. All of our students learn in outstanding facilities that include a swimming pool and even a Planetarium.
While we are proud of our academic programs and achievements, we are equally proud of our extracurricular and co-curricular programs. Thousands of students join our athletic teams. Our music and arts programs have won national recognition. There are clubs and organizations for virtually every talent or interest.
Finally, North Rockland is blessed with a supportive and involved community. Our PTA supports our kids with many outstanding programs. Local businesses help us raise countless dollars for scholarships. Our slogan describes us accurately – “A Great Place to Live and Learn.” If you need any information to help you make your decision, please contact the District at 942-3000 or visit our website at nrcsd.org.
Sincerely,
Brian D. Monahan
